Sharpening Like any of your tools, great care of your JH Forge hoof knife will increase its longevity and reliability. I like to tune up my own knives on a regular basis and not wait until they are so dull they need a lot of work. I prefer to use my belt sander to give them a fresh sharp edge, especially when we deal with muddy, sandy feet or super dry feet on a regular basis.
